Police in Bremang Asikuma have arrested three people for allegedly possessing human parts in Assin Towoboase near Breman Jambra, in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa district of the Central region.

The three namely Kwesi Awudu, 25, Bismark Botwe, 20 and Stephen Donkor, 22, claim that they obtained the human parts from a cemetery at Breman Towobuasi in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa district of the Central region.

The chief of Breman Jambra, Nana Kwaw Fosu III who handed the three suspects to the police said the three were on their way to Agona Swedru when one of the human parts caught the attention of some youth in the area who raised an alarm leading to their arrest.

Nana Kwaw Fosu III said, the three initially denied the allegation claiming it was the bones were from a sheep.

However, after several hours of questioning, they led the police to the Breman Towoboasi town cemetery where they claim they dug the bones for spiritual protection.

It will be recalled that youth in Breman Jambra, in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa have for the past months have been complaining that graves have been looted at the cemetery.
One youth, Charles Ahanful who spoke to Adom News said parts of the coffins were cut with a saw and then later make away with the corpse.

He linked the incident to the work of “Sakawa” operators in the area who had planned to remove certain parts of the body for rituals.

Meanwhile, the Bremang Asikuma district police commander, ASP Emmanuel Baah said the three suspects will later be put before court.
