National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it is just a matter of time for the truth behind the controversial leaked tape to be told.

Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo maintained that he is being punished for being a torn in the flesh of some political elements in the country.

“Those who are doing propaganda and those who think that this is what they can do to bring me down, they have got it wrong,” he said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Wednesday.

The NDC National Chairman is standing trial for conspiracy to assault a public officer and conspiracy to cause harm after he was secretly recorded allegedly outlining plans to cause mayhem.

In the audio, Mr Ofosu-Ampofo is allegedly heard inciting party communicators to assault public officials and plotting to harm some other civilians.

He has vehemently denied the allegations insisting the tape was doctored.

The NDC Chairman said he is not bothered because he knows the people behind the agenda to dent his hard won reputation.

“Nothing will break me down because the Lord is my strength and he will carry me through,” he added.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo is certain he will soon get the opportunity to tell the truth behind the leaked tape.

“This matter will definitely come to an end and I will have the opportunity to tell the story the way it is; one day one day,” he stated.
