Ashanti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kwame Zu, has charged the police in Ashanti region to treat perpetrators of Monday’s fatal shooting incident as criminals, regardless of their political affiliation.

The Ashanti region police are currently on a manhunt for four persons they suspect are members of the pro-NDC vigilante group, the Hawks who are accused of being behind the shooting that claimed a life and left one other in critical condition.

Police in the Ashanti region has commenced investigations into the incidence.

According to eyewitness reports, the bloody scuffle was between a member of The Hawks and another member of the party’s security taskforce during a meeting by some national executives of the party, a claim the party is fighting off.

But speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday, Mr Zu said what happened is criminal and must be treated as such.

He stated that the party is not affiliated to any vigilante group thus people cannot link the operations of the Hawks to NDC.

The NDC man explained that they have a regional taskforce whose work is synonymous is “church ushers” not vigilante group.

Kwame Zu stressed that; they will not shield any party member who will be found culpable of the crime.
