Founder of the Danquah Institute, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has thrown a political jab at former President John Dramani Mahama, saying the latter has no message for the 2020 general elections.

Gabby observed in an interview on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana Thursday that even though Mr Mahama was the best candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), his records as President will make selling him to the electorates very difficult.

The NDC finds itself in a very difficult situation. John Mahama is the most marketable but what will be his message, Gabby quizzed.

Mr Otchere-Darko, who is a direct cousin to Ghana’s incumbent president, Nana Akufo-Addo, also noted that former President Mahama had the best opportunity to turn the fortunes of the nation around when he took over power but failed.

What will John Mahama’s message in 2020 be? He was the most blessed Prez ever. Cocoa prices were good, we had oil, Ghana did not really have much of debt but somehow John Mahama managed to run down the system. Gabby observed.

Just recently the government had to pay a lot of arrears in the energy sector, health sector, education, etc. So you ask yourself what John Mahama used all the money for. He had all the opportunities yet he runs to the IMF, he stated.
