Member of Parliament for Sefwi Bodi in the Western Region who was a member of the 13-man Kwesi Botchwey Committee that probed why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost the 2016 elections Samson Ahi says the leaked report being serialized in the media is “fake”.

He said this after a purported leaked version of the Kwesi Botchwey report on why the National Democratic Congress (NDC) lost the general elections in 2016.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) after their 2016 Presidential and Parliamentary elections loss, they inaugurated a 13 member committee spearheaded by the former Minister of finance erstwhile the former President Rawlings’s government, Prof Kwesi Botchway to find out what contributed to the massive defeat of the party.

The leaked report described former president John Mahama as behaving like a “movie star” and also said the presence of former Communications Minister Dr Edward Omane Boamah and presidential staffer Stan Dogbe around the president, made President Mahama “naked”.

The report also report also says that out of 200 cars reserved for media personnel by the presidency, only 4 were given out.

Nevertheless, the said report has since been circulating in the public domain which some party executives have described as fake.

But Samson Ahi says the report is fake because the report did not mention names of individuals.

He noted that even members of the committee do not have copies of the report excerpt for the Chairman of the committee and leadership.

“The report circulating on social media is fake because we didn’t mention names of any individuals so those of you making allegations against people should desist from it” he said.

He added that, the Committee did not recommend healing process or cancellation of the party’s biometric registration but rather the leadership of the party studied the report and took those decisions.
