Former Ghana captain and National Teams Ambassador Asamoah Gyan made a motivational visit to the Black Queens during their training session on Wednesday, offering encouragement as the team steps up preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Gyan, one of Ghana’s most celebrated strikers, used the opportunity to congratulate the squad and technical team for successfully securing qualification to the continental tournament.

He urged the players to remain focused, work hard, and give their maximum effort whenever they take to the field.

The visit marked one of Gyan’s first official engagements since his appointment as Ambassador for Ghana’s national teams, a role aimed at strengthening support structures and boosting morale across the various national sides.

He also assured the players of his continued commitment to supporting and motivating the team as they build towards next year’s WAFCON finals.

His presence was warmly welcomed by both players and technical staff, with the former Black Stars skipper sharing personal experiences and words of inspiration with the squad.

The Black Queens are currently in camp in Accra under head coach Kim Lars Björkegren as preparations intensify for the continental showpiece.
