The Accra Regional Police Command has withdrawn an earlier claim suggesting that an arrest had been made in connection with the fire outbreak at the Accra Central Police Barracks.
In a clarified statement, the Command explained that no suspect has been arrested at this stage of investigations, correcting initial communication that indicated otherwise.
The Police emphasized that investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing, and no conclusive report can be made as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that no fatalities have been recorded in the incident.
One fire officer who sustained injuries during the operation is currently receiving treatment at the Police Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The Ghana Police Service noted that it continues to work closely with the Ghana National Fire Service and other emergency responders to manage the aftermath of the blaze and ensure safety at the barracks.
Officials assured the public that further updates will be provided as new information emerges.
