Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori Atta has announced that government has created 88,000 jobs in the country.

He said this during the presentation of the government’s budget statement for 2019 to Parliament today November, 15, 2018.

Outlining the policy initiatives, he said, “the government has created 88,000 job in the country of which NABCO is the largest job creation policy in the country, the initiative focuses in solving public service delivery in health, education, agriculture, technology, governance and drive revenue mobilization and collection”.

The budget reflected the government’s effort in the creation of jobs to address the level of unemployment of youth and graduates and to solve social problems.

The Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) was launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as part of government’s initiative to provide jobs for the country’s unemployed graduates.

The seven modules under NABCO is meant to help address the challenges facing the nation’s most pressing sectors while providing jobs to graduates who are unable to find jobs partly due to a ban on public sector employment by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The recruits will be receiving a monthly stipend of GHC700.
