The 500 desks would be shared among eight schools

The Ablekuma West Municipal Chief Executive, George Bray, has presented 500 dual desks to the Ablekuma West Municipal Directorate of Education to be distributed to schools in the area.

The items would be shared among eight schools.

Mr Bray, in an interview with Adom News after the presentation, said the gesture was to enhance teaching and learning in the schools and that more dual desks would be provided to cover other schools.

On why the assembly opted for metal instead of wood desks, the Chief Executive said it was to ensure longevity.

He added that the assembly will do all it takes to improve education in the area by addressing the challenges head on.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Director of Education, Christian J. Aforlah expressed gratitude to the assembly for the support and said items would be fairly shared among the schools to improve teaching and learning.

He advised teachers and pupils to ensure proper use of the desks.

Touching on the preparedness ahead of the school’s reopening, Mr Aforlah disclosed that the schools are set as logistics needed to start the new curriculum have been provided by the Ghana Education Service for use.
