The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George, has challenged Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin to formally report the alleged compromise of his Facebook account to the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) for investigation.

The challenge follows a controversial post that appeared on Afenyo-Markin’s official Facebook page on Tuesday, June 2, which questioned the passage of the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, 2025.

The post sparked widespread public debate and political reactions, with many questioning whether it was genuinely authored by the Minority Leader or resulted from an unauthorised breach of his social media account.

Speaking on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue, Sam George said the Cyber Security Authority is ready to investigate the matter and establish the facts.

“I throw an open challenge to Alexander Afenyo-Markin. The comment he made that his account was compromised — the Cyber Security Authority of Ghana is willing to support him to run an investigation, and we will be able to determine whether his account was truly compromised or whether he made that post himself,” he stated.

He emphasised that if Afenyo-Markin genuinely believes his account was hacked, he should file an official complaint to enable a thorough investigation.

“If he truly believes that his account was compromised, he should file a formal complaint with us, and we will carry out an investigation to identify where the compromise came from and make sure those responsible face the rigours of the law. But if that account was not compromised, he will not be able to file that complaint,” he added.
