The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has announced the promotion of more than 3,400 staff across the country, marking one of the organisation’s largest internal advancement exercises in recent years.
The announcement was described by management as a major morale booster for personnel who have served for years in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and humanitarian support roles nationwide.
According to the Service, the promotions reflect recognition of dedication, sacrifice, and consistent commitment by staff working under often challenging conditions in disaster-prone and emergency response environments.
NADMO noted that the exercise is not only a reward for individual performance but also part of broader efforts to strengthen institutional capacity and improve service delivery in disaster management across Ghana.
The promotions cut across various ranks and operational levels, affecting staff stationed in all regions of the country.
Management described the development as “good news” for the organisation, stressing that it will help motivate staff and enhance efficiency in responding to disasters, emergencies, and national crises.
Officials further explained that the promotion exercise aligns with ongoing reforms aimed at improving professionalism, career progression, and operational readiness within the service.
They added that a motivated workforce remains critical to ensuring effective coordination during floods, fire outbreaks, environmental disasters, and other emergency situations.
The Service congratulated all successful staff and encouraged them to see the development as a call to greater responsibility in serving the nation.
NADMO reaffirmed its commitment to building a resilient disaster management system capable of responding swiftly and effectively to emergencies across Ghana.
