The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially released the timetable for its 2026 constituency, regional and national executive elections following approval by the party’s Functional Executive Committee (FEC).
In a statement signed by the Deputy General Secretary, Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, on behalf of the General Secretary on Wednesday, August 5, the party said the timetable outlines the various stages of its internal electoral process, including the opening and filing of nominations, vetting of aspirants, appeals, balloting and elections at all three levels.
According to the NDC, the roadmap is intended to ensure transparent, credible and well-organised internal elections in line with the party’s constitution and approved election guidelines.
“The release of this timetable reaffirms the Party’s commitment to conducting transparent, credible, and well-organized internal elections in accordance with the Constitution of the National Democratic Congress and the approved Election Guidelines,” the statement said.
The party has, therefore, urged all regional and constituency executives, aspiring candidates and members to familiarise themselves with the timetable and strictly comply with the stipulated procedures and deadlines.
Constituency elections
The timetable indicates that nominations for constituency executive positions will open at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, and close at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17.
Applications will be submitted online through forms.ghanandc.com, after which successful applicants will have seven days to complete and secure endorsements on their nomination forms.
Filing of nominations is scheduled for September 23 and 24, with completed forms to be submitted online and hard copies lodged at constituency offices between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Vetting of aspirants will take place from September 25 to 27, while appeals will be heard between September 29 and October 1. Constituency elections are scheduled for October 24 and 25.
Regional elections
For the regional executive elections, nominations will open on Tuesday, October 6, and close on Wednesday, October 7.
Successful applicants will also have seven days to complete their nomination forms before filing nominations on October 14 and 15.
Regional vetting is scheduled for October 16 and 17, while appeals will be heard on October 19 and 20.
The Regional Youth and Women Conference will take place on November 13, with regional executive elections set for November 14 and 15.
National elections
The party will open nominations for national executive positions on Tuesday, October 20, at 7:00 a.m., with the process ending at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21.
Applicants will have 14 days to complete their nomination forms before filing nominations from November 7 to 9.
Vetting of national executive aspirants will be conducted from November 12 to 13, while appeals will be heard on November 15 and 16.
The National Youth and Women Conference has been scheduled for December 12, with the party’s National Congress, where national executives will be elected, set for Saturday, December 19.
The NDC expressed appreciation to its members, executives and stakeholders for their continued commitment to the party and expressed confidence that a successful internal electoral process would strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
