The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has successfully evacuated three Ghanaian traders who were injured in a terrorist attack in Burkina Faso on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
According to a statement released on Wednesday, February 18, the evacuation was part of a coordinated humanitarian and security mission by the Ghanaian government to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens following the attack.

The operation, carried out by the Ghana Air Force on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, saw the injured traders flown back to Ghana for urgent medical attention. Upon arrival, they were immediately taken to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further assessment and treatment.
The mission involved close coordination among multiple government agencies, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, the Ministry of Defence, and the Ghana Armed Forces, all working together to guarantee a swift and safe evacuation.

The GAF also expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the tragic attack.
“The Ghana Armed Forces extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, prays for the repose of the souls of the deceased, and wishes the injured a speedy recovery,” the statement read.
