The youth of Gyedu have expressed concern over the slow pace of development in the community, attributing it to the absence of a substantive chief.

They are therefore appealing to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to intervene and help resolve the long-standing chieftaincy vacuum.

Speaking to Adom News, former Youth Chairman, Kwasi Poku Augustine, disclosed that the community has been without a chief for over 25 years—a situation he says has significantly affected growth and development.

According to him, Gyedu remains one of the underdeveloped communities in the region due to the lack of traditional leadership to drive and advocate for developmental projects.

He stressed that resolving the chieftaincy issue would help accelerate progress and improve the living conditions of residents.

The youth, he added, are ready to support and work with any individual who is installed as chief to ensure unity, development, and progress in the area.
