Former Afram Plains North Constituency MP, Betty Krosbi Mensah, has officially announced her intention to contest for the National Women’s Organiser position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to her, the decision follows months of consultations with political mentors and gender advocates across the country.

Speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM, Madam Mensah, who currently serves as a Technical Advisor to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, said she is bringing renewed energy and vision to the party’s women’s wing.

“For the past months, I have had extensive consultations about my background, where I hail from, and how firmly I have stood over the years as a gender advocate when it comes to fighting for women’s empowerment and gender equality. Come December 2026, I will be contesting to be elected as the National Women’s Organiser of the NDC. I am fully confident in my candidature based on the consultations I have undertaken so far,” she declared.

The former MP emphasised that her experience and long-standing advocacy for women position her as a strong candidate to lead and mobilise the party’s women’s front.

Meanwhile, the NDC has scheduled its Youth and Women Conference for December 12, 2026, where Youth and Women Organisers will be elected.
