Tension at Mamprobi Polyclinic over alleged baby theft

Tension erupted at the Mamprobi Polyclinic on Tuesday following reports that a newborn baby allegedly went missing shortly after being delivered via Caesarean section.

The incident is reported to have occurred when a woman, suspected of posing as a nurse, allegedly took the baby from the health facility under unclear circumstances.

Videos circulating on social media showed heightened tension at the facility, with the baby’s father confronting hospital authorities and demanding immediate answers regarding his child’s disappearance.

He also called for the release of CCTV footage to help identify and apprehend the suspect.

Fortunately, CCTV cameras at the facility reportedly captured clear images of the woman believed to be responsible for the act.

The incident caused panic and emotional scenes at the polyclinic, with family members confronting hospital staff and pressing for information on the child’s whereabouts.

The matter has been reported to the Ghana Police Service, which is currently investigating the case.

Authorities at the facility are yet to release an official statement on the incident.
