Police in Senya Beraku, Central Region, have arrested 13 individuals in a targeted operation aimed at curbing criminal activities within the area.
The operation, conducted on December 17, 2025, involved raids at three separate locations believed to be linked to criminal activity.
Those arrested include Michael Essel (23), Frederick Koranteng (23), James Essel (24), Jones Koranteng (20), Daniel Essibu (30), Kofi Abbiw (28), Kofi Essibu (57), Klotey Poree (26), Bismark Sarbeng (26), Kojo Otoo (24), Thomas Quartey (22), Gladys Jackson (19), and Florence Adenue (25).

The first raid took place in Kukwado, a coastal community, where six suspects were arrested. Police recovered substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other related items.

At a second location—a yellow house near a cemetery—four suspects, including a female, were apprehended. Items recovered included dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, locally distilled gin (akpeteshie/laka), a 32-inch television set, and assorted brands of cigarettes.

The final stop was Awiaso, where three more suspects, including a female, were arrested. Officers retrieved dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, a toy gun, shisha, local gin, and a game pot. Police later set the suspected hideouts ablaze.
Both the suspects and the seized items are in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations as authorities continue efforts to maintain law and order in the area.
