Over 300 people have been rendered homeless in the Assin South District of the Central Region after a heavy downpour with thunderstorms hit 12 communities in the district.
Some of the houses collapsed completely while the roof of others were ripped off as a result.
According to the Assin South NADMO Director, Brewu Essumang, 121 households were affected by the disaster.

He said the affected structures include schools, churches and other households.
According to him, the extent of damage has forced affected residents to spend their nights with their neighbours.

Some residents who spoke to Adom News called for urgent support from government.
The Assin South DCE, Derrick Owusu Ambrose, who visited the affected communities has pledged his support for the victims of the disaster.
