Black Stars goalkeeper Paul Reverson has expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, boldly predicting that the four-time African champions can reach the semi-finals or go even further.

Ghana will make its fifth appearance at the global tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico. The West African nation has been drawn in a challenging Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.

Despite missing out on the final squad after being named in the provisional 28-man list, the highly-rated Ajax goalkeeping prospect believes the Black Stars have the quality to achieve one of the country’s best-ever World Cup performances.

Speaking to 3Sports, Reverson expressed optimism about the team’s prospects at the tournament, insisting Ghana has the talent and mentality to compete at the highest level.

“I think Ghana can reach the semi-finals and even further,” Reverson said.

The Black Stars will be aiming to improve on their recent World Cup campaigns after suffering group-stage exits at the 2014 tournament in Brazil and the 2022 edition in Qatar.

Ghana’s 2026 World Cup campaign will begin against Panama on June 17 at BMO Field before a highly anticipated clash with England at Gillette Stadium on June 23. The team will conclude its Group L fixtures against Croatia on June 27.
