A 58-year-old woman, identified as Lydia Andoh, has been murdered by unknown assailants at Awutu Ahentia in the Awutu Senya West district of the Central region.

According to the police, the deceased was found dead in a pool of blood with several injuries on her face.

Speaking in an interview with Adom News, Awutu Bereku Station Officer, Chief inspector Stephen Tamakloe , said they proceeded to the crime scene after husband of the deceased, Edward Sintim came to lodge a complaint at the Awutu Bereku police station.

“The husband told us he discovered his wife’s body on his way home. She was bleeding from his nose with injuries all over the body with nothing taken from her,” he said.

According to Chief Inspector Tamakloe, their preliminary checks revealed the deceased was hit with a metal or stick.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist hospital with investigations ongoing.
