President Nana Akufo-Addo is being challenged to use the corruption exposé at the Public Procurement Authority (PPA) to reinforce his commitment to fighting corruption.

This is the only way, according to the anti-corruption coalition, Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII), to assure them that indeed he is walking the talk.

Fund Raising Manager of GII, Michael Boadi made the call on the anti-corruption segment on Adom FM’s morning show, Corruption Watch.

He bemoaned how successive governments have paid lip service to the fight against corruption over the years.

The anti-corruption crusader said once per Manasseh’s investigations the PPA boss has been allegedly caught in a conflict of interest situation, President Akufo-Addo must crack the whip.

“This is an opportunity for President Akufo-Addo to prove he is committed to the fight against corruption. It is a test case,” he stressed.

Mr Boadi also called for the suspension of the entire PPA Board after the authority’s Chief Executive Officer was suspended over conflict of interest and corruption allegations.

He is convinced the Board might be culpable because of the potential conflict of interest violations that were brought to light by the investigative piece.
