The Ledzokuku Constituency Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Wisdom Cudjoe is threatening to lead a massive demonstration against the government over the neglect of the Teshie Link road which has been in bad state for more than two years.

The 7.5-kilometre link road, which connects Teshie Lascala, Aglizaa and Manet Estate through to Spintex to the Accra-Tema beach road is currently in a deplorable state and has made life unbearable for commuters.

The only hospital in the area, which also serves as a research centre for malaria in Africa, is having its fair share of the problems as its files and beds are covered in dust.

Pedestrians, according to reports, regularly report to the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) hospital with respiratory infections.

Drivers are compelled to charge exorbitant fares to enable them buy spare parts when their cars break down.

The residents are, therefore, threatening to stage series of demonstrations and also boycott the 2020 general election if nothing is done about the bad state of the roads.

Speaking on the issue, the NPP Youth Organiser on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Friday, said he will personally mobilise the people for the protest.

He could not fathom why the government had turned a deaf ear to pleas by NPP executives and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area over the road.

“The MP has done his best and it’s time we the youth, especially in NPP, do something. If we don’t fix the road, we will lose the Ledzokuku seat,” Mr Cudjoe fumed.
