Ghanaian music legend, Kojo Antwi has expressed sadness towards the inability of Ghanaian musicians to compose songs that are ‘patriotic’.

According to the music maestro, he thinks musicians write and produce less songs to showcase their love and devotion to the country.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall show, the ‘Medofo Pa’ hitmaker called on the government to implement measures, grants and strategies that will motivate musicians to write more patriotic songs.

According to him, government turning a blind eye to the phenomenon will cause most of these musicians to travel abroad in search for greener pastures.

He said “I will appeal to the government to put in place some scheme or grant support musicians who compose patriotic songs; the support must be deliberate.”, he urged

“I think we need to support those initiatives; support our children right from childhood. Otherwise they will want to seek greener pastures abroad. It starts with music and images. The government must do that. When you go to Denmark, UK there are such grants…” Kojo Antwi stressed.
