Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has revealed that the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service is being considered for the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) position.

Mr Nketia disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen programme, Thursday.

According to him, the allegations surrounding her and her gaffe in the Takoradi kidnapped girls’ case since she assumed office and how she has so far executed her work are nothing to write home about.

“Our lying CID boss Tiwaa is being considered for the position of IGP. It clearly shows that Ghana is losing it under the Akufo-Addo-led government,” he said.

Asked by show host how he got such an information, the NDC scribe said “I know the CID boss is being considered for the IGP post. Akufo-Addo is noted for promoting officials instead of sacking them and so looking at someone like Tiwaa who has so many issues surrounding her neck, she would rather be promoted to IGP position instead of showing her the exit,” he claimed.
