The Kintampo District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region is in the news for blowing an amount of GHC 370, 000 on the purchase of rice and sugar for Muslims in the district to break their Ramadan fast.
According to the 2015 Auditor General’s report, GHC 290,000 out of the figure was used for the purchase of rice while GHC 80,000 was spent on sugar.
This came to light on the ‘Fabewoso’ segment of Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ on Monday.
