New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu Constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has urged the management of the Metro Mass Transit (MMT) Limited to demand for monies owed it by some politicians in court.

To Mr Afenyo-Markin, he believes the MMT must exhaust all options available to it in pursuing the politicians for payment.

Speaking in an interview on Adom TV’s Badwam show. Mr Afenyo-Markin said the issue cannot be politicised.

“Metro Mass has a lot of options available to them in retrieving their money. They can follow due processes by issuing demand notice and if you have officially published the names, then go to court and demand for your money,” he said.

According to the MMT, some National Democratic Congress MPs owe the company about GH¢1.5 million which is gradually collapsing the business.

The company revealed its debtors as MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Cletus Avoka, Mahama Ayariga, A.B.A. Fuseni, Amidu Suleman, Alhaji Tanko, and Ras Mubarak. Mr Ablakwa has, meanwhile, provided evidence of his payment to the company.
