The Ghana Education Service (GES) has disclosed that two people accused of collecting money from applicants in connection with its ongoing recruitment exercise have been arrested and arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court 6.
The Service said four individuals have so far been linked to the alleged recruitment fraud, with two currently in custody while the other two remain at large.
In a Facebook post on Friday, August 28, the GES said the arrests were carried out in collaboration with security agencies as part of measures to protect applicants and ensure the recruitment process remains credible.
The Service reiterated that its recruitment is free and follows clearly defined procedures.
It therefore cautioned applicants against giving money to individuals who claim they can facilitate their recruitment, secure appointment letters or influence their placement within the Service.
According to the GES, the arrests form part of efforts to clamp down on individuals allegedly taking advantage of unsuspecting applicants for personal benefit.
Management assured the public that it would continue to take firm action against anyone found attempting to defraud applicants or damage the reputation of the Service.
The GES has also urged members of the public to report suspected recruitment fraud cases without delay and provide any relevant information that could help security agencies trace and apprehend those involved.
