The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, Ibrahim Faila Fusseini, has urged the Municipal Health Directorate to ensure proper maintenance of a newly constructed health clinic at Otinibi to improve access to healthcare for residents in the area.
The facility, constructed with support from Qatar and Kuwait, was commissioned and handed over to the community as part of efforts to improve healthcare delivery and promote development within the municipality.
Speaking at the commissioning and handing-over ceremony, Mr. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini stressed the importance of maintaining the facility to ensure that it continues to serve the people effectively.
He assured residents that the Assembly would continue to support development initiatives aimed at improving their living conditions.
“The Assembly will continue to support and bring development to the area for the benefit of the people,” he said.
The MCE also commissioned a newly constructed mosque for the people of Otinibi, describing the projects as important interventions that would contribute to the social and economic development of the community.
According to Mr. Fusseini, the efforts to facilitate the construction of both the clinic and the mosque received significant support from President John Dramani Mahama.
He explained that the President encouraged him to seek assistance from development partners to address some of the pressing needs of communities within the municipality.
Mr. Fusseini expressed appreciation to the governments and partners from Qatar and Kuwait for their support towards the projects, noting that such partnerships were essential to complement government and Assembly efforts in providing critical infrastructure.
He called on residents to take ownership of the facilities and help protect them to ensure that future generations also benefit from the investments.
The commissioning of the clinic and mosque marks another addition to infrastructure development in Otinibi and is expected to contribute to improved healthcare access and the religious and social well-being of residents.
