New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Organiser hopeful and former Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Titus-Glover, has disclosed that his campaign team was involved in an accident while travelling from Atebubu to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, one of the two pickup vehicles accompanying his team suffered a tyre-related fault, causing it to veer off the road and into the bush.
He said the accident occurred on Thursday.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr Titus-Glover said the incident occurred while his vehicle was leading the campaign convoy.
“We were coming from Atebubu to Kumasi. We had 3 vehicles; my vehicle was in front, and we had 2 pickups,” he said.
He explained that the convoy comprised a security vehicle and an operational vehicle, with his Director of Operations, Prince Kumah, also joining the team.
Mr Titus-Glover said the team received a distress call while on the road informing them that one of the vehicles had lost a tyre and subsequently veered off the road.
“We were on our way when we had a call that one of the vehicles, the tire, had come off and the vehicle has veered into the bush,” he recounted.
He expressed gratitude that the incident did not result in any injuries.
“I thank God that nobody was hurt,” he said.
According to him, the affected vehicle has since been moved to a safe location and will be repaired before the campaign team resumes its activities.
“But we have been able to move it to a safe place. We will repair it as required and continue with our campaign,” he stated.
The incident comes barely a week after Mr Titus-Glover’s campaign team was involved in another accident in the Oti Region.
Despite the latest setback, he said the campaign remains on course, particularly as he prepares to engage delegates across the Ashanti Region.
Mr Titus-Glover disclosed that he met the Ashanti Regional NPP executives on Wednesday night and described the reception as overwhelming.
“I met with the Ashanti regional executives on Wednesday night and the reception was overwhelming,” he said.
He added that his focus would now shift to direct engagement with delegates as he seeks their support in his bid to become the party’s next National Organiser.
“So it is time to go down to the delegates,” he said.
