Adom Brands’ public dialogue on the growing influence of money in Ghana’s democratic process dubbed “Democracy Is Not For Sale,” is currently going on at the Ascension Hall in Koforidua.
The forum is organised in partnership with the JoyNews Impact Makers Foundation
The engagement has brought together political actors, civil society organisations, traditional leaders, youth groups, community representatives and members of the public to discuss the increasing role of money in Ghanaian politics and its implications for democracy.
Key issues expected to dominate the discussion include vote buying, the rising cost of political participation, campaign financing and the use of illicit funds to influence electoral processes and outcomes.
The forum will also provide citizens with an opportunity to share their experiences and concerns while contributing ideas on how Ghana can strengthen transparency, accountability and fairness in the financing of political activities.
