Strongman

Over the weekend, social media was inundated with songs of rappers Strongman and Medikal because the two rappers were engaged in a rap feud that attained the ultimate buzz on social media.

The feud stayed number one on trends till 2019 BET Awards, held in California.

People and even celebrities have reacted to the battle and have subtly confirmed who they think the winner is.

It all started when Medikal won the ‘Best Rapper of the Year’ at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 2019. Medikal after the award said he saved Ghana’s rap music from dying in a social media tweet.

Strongman, who wasn’t comfortable with Medikal’s words, criticised him on Adom FM’s rap show Kasahari Level, insisting that he rather deserved the ‘Best Rapper of the Year.’

According to him, Medikal was only favoured because his STN EP, which he believed deserved a nomination, wasn’t considered by the VGMA Board, the reason Medikal had all the space to brag.

Medikal released ‘To whom it May Concern‘, a song that jabbed Strongman, forcing him to reply with ‘Don’t Try.’ It didn’t end there as Medikal again dropped ‘The Last Burial’ to nail Strongman but Strongman’s ‘Immortal‘ song has created more buzz on social media.

Many polls conducted on social media saw Strongman climbing the charts – meaning he won the battle, even Shatta Wale released his own results.

Strongman, speaking to host Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, Monday, when asked how he felt after listening to Medikal’s song intended to bury his career ‘The Last Burial’, said:

“For me I didn’t feel anything. Most of the things he was saying about me were not true. I don’t need to get emotional because I use the brain more than the heart. I have been through many emotional things to be that.”

Strongman is currently promoting his new song dubbed ‘Ups and Down’ featuring rapper M.anifest.

Host of the show, Andy Dosty confirmed attempts to reach Medikal on the show proved futile as reports suggested he was on his way to the United States of America.
