A member of the Fred Pappoe campaign team for the 2019 Ghana Football Association presidential elections, Randy Abbey, has given reasons why his candidate lost in his bid to becoming the Ghana FA boss.

Mr Pappoe joined the race for the FA presidency with less than a month to the elections.

And, in an election that travelled two rounds, the Great Olympics board member polled six votes in the first round and subsequently pulled out of the race voluntarily even before the second round.

Commenting of Mr Pappoe’s poor performance, Mr Randy Abbey, who was himself a candidate for the position of Executive Council Membership, said his candidate lost the elections because of the late start to his campaign.

“It wasn’t surprising because we started our campaign very late,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Morning Show programme.

“Everybody that you talk to, they tell you, let’s wait and see. It’s clear that people have done a good job which makes things difficult for us,” he added.

Mr Fred Pappoe has been named as a member of the Black Stars Management Committee.
