Rev. Andrews Awintia’s father, Agure Awintia goes home on Saturday

The funeral of Agure Awintia, father of the Regional Superintendent of the Greater Accra East Region of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Andrews Nelson Awintia, will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Cedar Mountain Chapel in East Legon, Accra.

Mr Awintia, who was 86, is also the father of Pastor Samson Atule of the Western North Region of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, as well as Nehemiah Awande, Francis Ayagabil, Godswill Awintia, Kwaku Awintia and Ama Awintia.

He is being remembered for his selfless and compassionate nature, charitable acts and support for humanity.

His funeral is expected to attract several influential men of God, dignitaries and other persons of repute who will join the family to pay their final respects.

The ceremony will provide an opportunity for family, friends, members of the clergy and well-wishers to celebrate the life and legacy of the late Agure Awintia.
