Residents and drivers using the Winneba–Gomoa Ojobi Road have been left stranded after a section of the road caved in following Thursday’s heavy downpour.
A river between Gomoa Kwikrom and Winneba overflowed its banks, washing away a bridge and cutting off access to the road.
As a result, residents travelling from Winneba are unable to commute to Gomoa Ojobi to connect to the main Kasoa Highway.
In a related development, good Samaritans in Kasoa are continuing rescue efforts, using rented canoes to evacuate residents trapped by floodwaters.
The incident has disrupted transportation and daily activities, with affected residents calling on the authorities to intervene urgently and restore access to the road.
