The Chairman of the Krobo Youth Association, Kyeremeh Donkor, has given authorities until Monday to reopen the Techiman-Krobo Nursing and Midwifery School, warning that the association will take further action if the school remains closed.
According to him, efforts by the community to resolve concerns surrounding the school’s principal have not yielded the needed results, leaving students stranded and disrupting academic activities.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr Donkor said the community had exhausted all available channels to address the matter but had received little response from the relevant authorities.
“We have been talking about this matter, but nothing has happened,” he said.
He alleged that the principal has often claimed to have the backing of influential individuals, making it difficult for concerns about her leadership to be addressed.
“She will tell you she has a strong backing, and nobody can do anything to her. We are all still trying to find out who she is,” he stated.
Mr Donkor further alleged that the principal faced similar challenges during her time at the Mampong Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
“She was at Mampong Nursing and Midwifery School, and there were a lot of issues over there. My sources have revealed that the late Mampong chief, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, even had to intervene, and she was transferred,” he claimed.
However, Adom News has not independently verified the allegations, and the principal has not publicly responded to the claims.
The Krobo Youth Association Chairman said the continued closure of the school was causing uncertainty for students, many of whom had already left the campus.
“Some of the students have left for their homes. Others who come from far places are still in the town, hoping that the school will be reopened,” he added.
Mr Donkor said the association expects the school to resume academic activities without further delay.
“So we have given them up to Monday to open the school, or we will take action.”
He did not specify the nature of the intended action but urged the authorities to intervene quickly to restore normalcy and prevent further disruption to students’ education.
