The Agyeman-Rawlings family has paid a condolence visit to former Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) member, Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, following the death of his wife, Margaret Nunoo-Mensah.

The delegation, led by the Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, included Ms. Yaa Asantewaa Agyeman-Rawlings and Amina Agyeman-Rawlings. They visited the family on Friday to express their sympathies and honour the long-standing relationship between the two families.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings said the gesture was rooted in the deep bonds established by their parents, stressing the importance of maintaining those ties.
“We are here because we understand the true value of friendship. Relationships matter,” she noted, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
General Nunoo-Mensah, who served as Chief of Defence Staff during the PNDC era and later as National Security Advisor under former President John Evans Atta Mills, expressed gratitude for the visit. He described it as comforting, particularly at a time when both families are dealing with loss.

He also reflected on his close relationship with the late former President Jerry John Rawlings, sharing memories of their time working together.
Margaret Nunoo-Mensah, who passed away in February, had been married to the retired General since August 1968.
The former military officer was joined during the visit by his children, including Ben, Joseph, Fred and Amanda Nunoo-Mensah.
The visit underscores the enduring ties between the Nunoo-Mensah and Rawlings families, rooted in Ghana’s political and military history.
