The Unity Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Sakasaka Branch in Tamale, has donated assorted items to the Ghana Prisons Service at the Tamale Central Prison as part of its National Evangelization Week celebration.
The donation, made on 23rd May 2026, formed part of the church’s commitment to compassion and social responsibility towards vulnerable groups in society.
The items included food supplies, toiletries, drinks, sanitary products and Bibles, aimed at supporting the welfare of inmates and strengthening rehabilitation efforts within the prison system.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Northern Regional Commander, the Northern Regional Public Relations Officer, Supt. David Kwame Afatsawu, expressed gratitude for the gesture.
He also highlighted the Service’s Think Prisons 360° initiative, which promotes rehabilitation through collaboration with faith-based organisations and other stakeholders.
He noted that partnerships of this nature play a key role in improving inmate welfare and supporting reintegration efforts after incarceration.
