Popular radio presenter killed in motor accident at Berekum

A journalist with Adikanfo FM in Jinijini, Mr Justice Danquah, popularly known as Nana Kofi or 99K, has died following a motor accident at Jamdede, near Mr Apraku’s Junction in Berekum.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, July 25, 2026, when Nana Kofi, who was riding a motorcycle, was reportedly hit by another motorcyclist who was travelling at high speed.

According to reports, Nana Kofi was riding in the right lane when the speeding rider crashed into him, causing severe injuries.

He was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum, where he received medical attention for injuries to his head and leg. However, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

The other motorcyclist involved in the crash is said to be receiving treatment for minor injuries, while two passengers who were riding with him are reportedly in critical condition and fighting for their lives.

Nana Kofi, a former staff member of Kiss FM and Chriss FM, was a familiar voice in the Bono Region’s media space before joining Adikanfo FM, where he continued his journalism career.

Until his demise, he was the General manager and Morning Show Host, Adikanfo FM 99.1- Berekum West District Capital – Jinijini

His death has since triggered mourning among colleagues, friends, and residents who knew him as a dedicated media practitioner.
