The production of Ghanaian actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has received support from Jomoro Member of Parliament Dorcas Affo-Toffey and the Paramount Chief of the Nsein Traditional Area, Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III.

The film, titled A Journey To Africa and produced by Weezy Empire, is currently being shot at Nzulezu, a stilt settlement in the Jomoro Municipality of the Western Region.

Madam Affo-Toffey, who is also a Deputy Minister for Transport, has made a financial contribution towards the production, while Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III visited the set to interact with Lil Win and his team.

The MP’s donation was delivered by the Jomoro Municipal Chief Executive, Benedict Boadi, who visited the production team on her behalf. The amount was not disclosed.

Speaking on behalf of the MP, Mr Boadi said she was committed to supporting Lil Win and the broader movie industry, particularly creative projects taking place in Nzulezu and the Jomoro Municipality.

The production has attracted several Nigerian actors and actresses, including Patience Ozokwor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Zubby Michael, Charles Awurum, Mike Ezuruonye and Destiny Etiko.

During his visit, Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III commended the cast and crew for their creative efforts and expressed interest in the development of Ghana’s film industry.

The chief also reportedly recommended actors IK and Rukaya for consideration in the ongoing production.

Beyond the current film, Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III pledged his prayers for Lil Win’s proposed movie about Ghana’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

The proposed project is expected to explore the life and legacy of the former president through film, although further details about its production have not been provided.

The chief’s support comes as Lil Win and Weezy Empire continue work on A Journey To Africa, which is being filmed in Nzulezu, a community known for its distinctive settlement built on stilts over Lake Tadane.

The location offers an opportunity to showcase the cultural heritage and natural scenery of the Western Region to audiences beyond Ghana.

The MP’s financial contribution and the traditional ruler’s visit highlight the involvement of political and traditional leaders in supporting local creative projects and promoting tourism destinations through filmmaking.

Attention will now be on the completion of A Journey To Africa and the possible development of Lil Win’s proposed film on Dr Kwame Nkrumah.
