Veteran Ghanaian actor Kofi Adjorlolo has explained why he will not feature in LilWin’s upcoming movie A Journey to Africa (Nzulezu), saying ill health forced him to turn down the opportunity.
Adjorlolo said he had been approached to join the production but was recovering from an illness after returning from Nigeria, where he had been working on another film.
In an interview with Max TV, the actor said he informed LilWin and his production team about his condition, dismissing any suggestion that his absence was linked to a disagreement between the two.
Adjorlolo stressed that he had maintained a cordial relationship with LilWin and had supported several of the filmmaker’s previous productions without turning down an invitation to participate.
He said there was no misunderstanding between them and that his inability to join the new project was purely health-related.
Beyond explaining his absence, Adjorlolo also highlighted what he believes is holding Ghana’s film industry back, calling for more investment to improve the quality and scale of local productions.
He argued that filmmakers need stronger financial backing to produce competitive films and help the industry grow.
LilWin’s A Journey to Africa (Nzulezu) brings together actors from Ghana and Nigeria, including Nollywood stars Kanayo O. Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor, Mike Ezuruonye, Charles Awurum, Zubby Michael and Destiny Etiko.
The film is part of LilWin’s efforts to bring talents from across the African film industry together in a single production.
