Acting coach of premier league debutants, Elmina Sharks, Yaw Acheampong has identified the problems facing the Ghana Premier League, outlining poor player welfare and bad officiating.
The former Ghanaian international appreciated the league we run here and said it is more competitive than the Ethiopian league which he almost joined but our ability to take care of the players and also ensure fair officiating is the problem.
The former Ashantigold trainer believes management of the various clubs is unable to pay these players well.
“Ghana league is better than the Ethiopian and Sudanese leagues but our problem is that we fail to take proper care of our players and officiating is equally not the best and all these does not help the league”, Acheampong told Asempa FM.
Coach Yaw Acheampong took over Elmina Sharks in the second round of the 2016/2017 league season , winning NASCO coach of the month of July and finished 9th with 42points.
