A man, identified as Samadu Seidu, has reportedly been shot dead by unknown assailants at Zomlampe of the Central Gonja District in the Savannah region throwing the community into a state of mourning and fear.
Information gathered by Joy News suggested that the assailants shot Mr Seidu around 11:pm while he was asleep.
According to Mr Seidu’s mother, gunshots were heard around that time of the night and she came out only to find the lifeless body of her son.

“I saw his door opened but nobody was around the scene but I later heard my son murmuring in the room and when I entered I saw him in a pool of blood,” she said.
The case has been reported to the Central Gonja District Police Command for investigations. The deceased has since been buried according to Islamic customs.

The Savannah Regional Police commander, DCOP Enoch Adutwum Bediako, has assured the case will not be left to go without bringing the perpetrators to book.
“Our team arrived at the scene and found the deceased in the pool of blood with some signs of wounds suspected to be from gunshots in his left hand,” he said.
