The son of the late martial artist and Police Officer, Owusu Sekyere, widely known as Kwaku Ninja, is displaying traits that lead his family to believe he is the reincarnation of the departed Police Officer.

Takyi Abeam, the brother of Kwaku Ninja, revealed that this young boy, born on the same date Kwaku Ninja was tragically murdered by Landguards, began exhibiting striking similarities to his uncle at a very young age.

“At the age of 5, during a visit to the Police Barracks, he claimed to have worked there and even assured people that he would return,” shared Takyi Abeam, the father.

The boy, now a Senior High School student, has embraced martial arts, even joining the cadet and excelling in it.

However, despite his talents, his father has decided to withdraw him from the cadet and discourage him from pursuing a career as a martial artist or joining the Police Service.

Takyi Abeam explained that the family’s decision stems from the inadequate support they received from the Police Service after Kwaku Ninja’s death.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem,’ he expressed dissatisfaction with the minimal assistance offered during the burial, including a coffin and a mere GHC 75.00 (75,000 cedis).

Takyi Abeam had to contribute an additional GHC 50.00 (500,000 cedis) for coffin enhancements, and the family incurred a debt of GHC 128.00, which was settled by mortgaging Kwaku Ninja’s sound system.

The family’s disappointment with the meager support from the Police Service has led to a firm resolution against any family member serving in the security agency.

Takyi Abeam emphasized that he won’t allow any family member to become a Police Officer, as demonstrated by withdrawing his child from the school cadet.

This decision has implications for the young boy believed to be Kwaku Ninja’s reincarnation, as he will not have the opportunity to showcase his martial arts talents. Kwaku Ninja’s daughter, now under the care of their stepmother in the United States, was also mentioned by Takyi Abeam.

The background of the tragic events leading to Kwaku Ninja’s death in 1998 was recounted. Alongside Police Constable Jerry Wornu, also known as ‘Taller,’ they were murdered by Landguards in Ablekuma, a suburb of Accra.

The family’s current stance reflects their enduring grievances over the lack of support from the Police Service during those trying times.
