The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Ms Lydia Alhassan, has visited victims of last week’s electoral violence at the hospital.

The injured who are all members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) suffered gunshot wounds during the 31st January 2019 by-election of which she emerged as the winner.

She presented an undisclosed amount of cash to the victims and prayed for their speedy recovery.

Some National Security operatives shot and wounded several NDC members at the private residence of the party’s candidate at La-Bawaleshie about an hour into the by-election.

Official communication from police said six persons sustained gunshot wounds.

No death was recorded.
