Fashion entrepreneur Osebo The Fashion King has apologised to the founder and leader of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, following concerns over a promotional video he recorded with the preacher’s wife, gospel musician Florence Obinim.
Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Doreen Avio and Kwame Dadzie, Osebo said he never intended to disrespect Bishop Obinim or create any misunderstanding through the video.
“If my friend Daniel Obinim feels it was wrong for me to do a video with his wife, I’m sorry. Whatever I did for her was from a clean heart,” he said.
According to Osebo, the video was not meant to stir controversy or offend anyone. He described Bishop Obinim as a friend and said he values their relationship, stressing that his apology was intended to clear the air if his actions had been misunderstood.
He also explained that Florence Obinim was not the first gospel artiste he had supported with a promotional video.
“I have done videos for Piesie Esther and Grace Ashly. I did it out of love; it was not meant to bring confusion between them,” he said.
His comments follow remarks by Bishop Obinim during a church service, where the preacher expressed disappointment that his wife had featured in a promotional video with Osebo despite knowing they were not on good terms.
Florence Obinim later explained that she had no ill intention in seeking Osebo’s support for the promotional video.
Despite the controversy, Osebo said he has great admiration for Florence Obinim and praised the lyrical depth of her songs.
