A man has been rescued and rushed to the hospital after a head-on collision involving a cargo truck and an excavator on the Sarakope–Aflao Road in the Volta Region.
The accident, which occurred on Sunday, July 12, 2026, left the victim trapped in the wreckage of the crash before personnel from the Kpetoe Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived at the scene to assist with the rescue operation.

The collision involved a MAN Diesel cargo truck and an excavator, with the exact circumstances leading to the crash yet to be established.
The firefighters successfully freed the trapped occupant, who was immediately transported to the Ho Teaching Hospital for medical attention.

Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the accident as concerns over road safety continue to grow.
Motorists have meanwhile been urged to exercise caution on the roads, observe traffic regulations and avoid practices that could endanger lives.
