The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Pyne, says cabal in Ghana Football is real.

Speaking on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam Wednesday, with regard to the banning of the former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi by FIFA Ethics Committee, Sam Pyne said the development was worrying.

According to him, a certain group of people have taken control of Ghana football and have blocked the chances of a man who he believes could rise to be a powerful person in football.

“This issue is very worrying and painful. You know, there is a cabal or mafias in football. These are people in the football circles who can work and plan against him and block his chances,” he said.

“My brother Acheampong is an MP and if he refuses to give his party members money anytime they demand money from him, they can even lie against him that he has stolen MP’s common fund just to tarnish his image and I see that in Kwesi’s case,” he said.

The ‘cabal’ as he describes them like to assume or perceive that they ‘own’ the system hence can act however or whenever they wish, without recourse to the effect their actions will have on other persons within the same fraternity.
