Telecoms industry regulator, National Communications Authority (NCA), has sanctioned MTN for failing to comply with directives of the NCA.

The Authority directed MTN to submit a report on the challenges it faced within 24 hours.

MTN’s failure to submit the report by deadline indicated has attracted some sanctions imposed on them by the NCA.

The NCA had earlier given MTN 24 hours to provide full explanation of the causes of the challenges MTN customers faced between December 1 and 2, 2019.

Over the two days in question, MTN customers could not make data bundle purchase with Mobile Money, and those who even succeeded, had far less volume of data than what they paid for.
