After days furious verbal exchanges and battle of words between supporters of the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tamale, Hon. Musah Superior and some New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in Tamale Central and South concerning the leadership style of the mayor, Hon. Salifu Sa-eed, the Regional Minister, has called for peace, calm and cease fire on the matter.
Over the past few days, the Honorable Musah Superior, Mayor of Tamale, has been criticized by some members of his party for what they describe as arrogance, disrespect and disregard for authority on the part of the mayor.
According to them, ‘Superior is running the metropolis as though it’s his property, he takes actions and decisions without consulting the leadership of the party.’
They added that, on countless times, the mayor has been invited by the leadership of the party in the region to meeting but none of such invitation has been honored by the mayor.
However, Hon. Salifu Sa-eed has called for a seize fire from both supporters of the mayor and the regional executives of the party in both Tamale south and central.

According to the Regional Minister, considering the nature of the matter and the criticisms, it will not be far from right if party’s structures at the regional level are allowed to handle and address the concerns raised.
Meanwhile, Hon. Salifu Sa-eed, in a press release has disallowed the discussion of the concerns raised by the executives against the mayor in any media house in the region and on any social media platform.
He however assured the regional executives of the party, the rank and file is the party and the general public that, the concerns raised will be looked into and duly addressed with a lasting solution designed and implemented to prevent a future occurrence of the same concerns and crisis.
“I am urging all the aggrieved parties to exercise maximum restraint and cooperate with the NPP Regional party council of Elders to resolve the issue amicable in other to foster unity among the aggrieved parties. This will enable us to collectively support His Excellency, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in the execution of the government flagship programmes.”
“I want to reassure the rank and file of the party and the general public that the matter will soon be a thing of the past.”
