Kumi Guitar

Kumi Guitar has expressed disappointment in his previous management with regards to his brand in the music space.

According to the musician, he hasn’t been fortunate when it comes to managing his music career.

Speaking in an interview with Mike 2 on Adom FM’s Entertainment Hall, the ‘Betweener’ hitmaker said his previous manager failed to promote his brand.

Talking about artiste management, Kumi said his manager didn’t have time for him and never created solid relationships with Disc Jockeys (DJs) so his songs could circulate well.

The musician said he expected his relationship with his manager to be like that of a bond, but his ex-manager had no idea where he even lived.

“I worked with a manager who didn’t know where I was staying. He didn’t care to know. Will you call that a manager? That is a mistake. If I am sick and you don’t know my house, how will you visit me?

“Artiste and manager relationship is more of a bond. He has to make sure your brand is enviable. But if otherwise happens, you the artiste would be doomed. I have not been fortunate with management.

“Lots of managers are not transparent. They don’t even sort DJs to play your song but will lie in your face. A manager is supposed to brand his product but some managers think about themselves alone and I have been a culprit,” he told Adom FM’s Mike 2.

This isn’t the first time he has come out to talk about how his previous management. Earlier, Adomonline.com reported how, according to him, his ex-manager betrayed him.
